In 2021, Women’s Fund of Central Indiana awarded $13,500 to Concord Neighborhood Center to support their after school programming. Women’s Fund and Concord have maintained a long standing relationship due to the incredible work they are doing in the community.
Concord Neighborhood Center’s mission is to provide opportunities that advance the education, health, well-being and independence for near-Southside families. This is achieved by providing programs for children as young as 3 up to 103.
Concord works hard to provide early childhood education programs, before and after school programs that include tutoring, sports and recreation, arts and crafts, social and emotional skill-building and more. They also offer Now for the Future, a comprehensive teenage development program to prepare students for success in school and post graduation.
Concord provides social services to help connect indiviudals to resources in order for them to achieve self-sufficiency. Those resources include employment counseling, rent and utility assistance, basic needs assistance, financial counseling, and more.
Additionally, Concord makes a concerted effort to assist seniors living on the near-Southside of Indianapolis. They provide activities such as bingo, field trips, and health programming to connect them with age-appropriate resources while still fostering independence.
Women’s Fund is proud to support Concord Neighborhood Center and the work they continue to do for central Indiana.
