The Advisory Board for Women’s Fund of Central Indiana is led by elected Chair, Tavonna Harris Askew, Partner, Chief of Staff and General Counsel at Health Corporation of Marion County and Vice Chair, Nichole Wilson, Vice President of Community Health Operations at Indiana University Health.
“We are excited for the experience and wisdom these women will bring to the Advisory Board,” said Jennifer Pope Baker, president of Women’s Fund. “We can’t wait to see what Women’s Fund can accomplish under their leadership.”
This transition of leadership marks a historic moment for Women’s Fund. In 25 years, Mrs. Askew will be the first Black woman to be the Chair of the board and it will be the first time both the Chair and Vice Chair are black women.
“It is long overdue but a positive step in the right direction for equity at all levels for Women’s Fund,” said Baker.
In addition to being an accomplished leader in the legal and business communities, Mrs. Askew has been a public speaker and educator for over 10 years. She has worked as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Indiana Wesleyan University and has also served as a presenter at a number of workshops and conferences. She earned her law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law as well as her undergraduate degree from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Wilson earned her doctorate and master’s degrees from University of Indianapolis, an MBA from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree in sports medicine from DePauw University and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
