Our Goal
The Steering Committee has set a goal of raising $20,000.
The money raised will be combined with a generous grant provided by Indiana University Health and funds contributed by Women’s Fund for a total of $120,000, with $108,000 in grantable dollars.
Your Fundraising Plan
- Set your fundraising goal. If every steering committee member raised $1,500, we will meet our fundraising goal of $20,000.
- Make your donation. Make your donation to the fund through this link.
- Identify prospective donors. These are women in your network who are in the healthcare field and are passionate about improving health outcomes for women and girls in Central Indiana.
- Set a plan. Based on your relationship and their communication style, decide the best way to approach each potential donor.
- Reach out. Use the below prompts and this FAQ document to reach out to prospective donors.
- Follow up. Remind your colleagues of the Feb. 28 deadline and ensure they haven’t lost the donation link. Answer any additional questions and emphasize the impact we can have together.
Timeline
- August 2024: Fundraising begins.
- February 28, 2025: Fundraising ends. Women in Health Collaborative Fund Steering Committee members review grant applications and provide a list of the best applications on which donors can vote.

[Insert greeting] I was hoping to connect with you about a project that I’m very passionate about, and I believe it aligns with your values and interests as well.
I’m a member of the steering committee for the Women in Health Collaborative Fund, which is an initiative of Women’s Fund of Central Indiana that empowers women working in all areas of healthcare to make granting decisions that improve health outcomes for women and girls in Central Indiana.
I’ve made a personal donation to the fund and have set an additional fundraising amount of $x. All donors to the fund, no matter the amount, will come together at the end of the fundraising period to vote on the organization(s) or project(s) that will receive a grant from the funds raised. This year’s grants will focus on reproductive health and Black girls’ mental health.
There is a networking event on Nov. 12 for like-minded women in healthcare to connect with each other as well as learn more about the Women in Health Collaborative.
Would you be interested in being my guest at the event, or could I take you to coffee to share more about why I am so passionate about the Fund?
